The GLP Program —Master’s Level Education for Travel Pros

NBTA Foundation
The Global Leadership Professional (GLP) program is a master’s level executive education program developed by the NBTA Foundation in conjunction with The Wharton School.  It is the business travel industry’s only master’s level accredited course and is designed to build upon NBTA’s Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CCTE) program.  This GLP program session can be used to satisfy your annual, post-graduate CCTE elective requirement.

The NBTA Foundation and The Wharton School provide a Certificate of Professional Development to participants who successfully complete four sessions within 24 months, including at least one session in three of the four main disciplines.

Business Innovation & Blue Ocean Strategy

Two-day Program

Saturday, July 26 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Sunday, July 27   9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Academic Director: Roch Parayre, Ph.D.

Are acquisition opportunities getting thin and/or expensive? Is organic earnings growth a major line item in your annual strategic plan? Innovation and renewal are central to organic growth. Yet most established organizations do not have a well-organized process to allow for significant and meaningful innovation.

Blue Ocean Strategy is the search for markets, or “blue oceans”, undiscovered by competition.  The objective is to reinvent your value offering by making it unique, and, in the extreme, making it so uniquely distinctive that it ultimately makes the competition irrelevant.  Ironically, the best way to reach this blue ocean and beat the competition may be to stop trying to do just that, and instead focus on rethinking and re-imagining your offering away from the traditional competitive game.  Doing so requires looking at your value offering from a customer's point of view.  New market space can be created by examining existing customers as well as non-customers, and rethinking your offering to match what they really want.  In this workshop, the major tools of Blue Ocean Strategy and other Innovation concepts will be introduced and applied in small team settings to various parts of the business travel value proposition.
